Who We Are

The Association of Professional Futurists is a growing community of futurists, dedicated to promoting professional excellence and demonstrating the value of strategic foresight and futures studies for their clients and/ or employers.

Futurists work in global corporations, small businesses, consultancies, education, non-profits, and government. Founded in 2002, the APF now includes more than 400 members from thirty-three countries.

Here is a brief brochure about joining the APF and one that addresses student members. You can find information about some of this year’s plans for events here.

The APF aims to set the standard of excellence for foresight professionals. Members include futurists from businesses, governments, non-profits, consulting futurists, educators, and students in future studies.

Our members meet regularly and host active online discussions among practitioners. We also provide professional development programs and recognition for excellence in futures works. And we offer to both our members and the public our rich body of ideas and information about the future. Please see our Ask a Futurist page and our blog.

We invite you to browse the site and engage our community. Here you will discover more about what we do and the individuals we represent. If you are interested in joining, please visit the Join page where you can apply online. If you have questions please get in touch.
